Broooooome

I arrived in Broome a few days ago having driven in a campervan from Darwin which took 5 days. That included a stop off in Kununurra where I visited the El Questro WIlderness Park for more swimming, gorges and thermal springs! I also visited Mirima National Park which contains the ‘mini’ Bungle Bungles because I couldn’t get to the real thing. That required a 4WD or a tour to it and we didn’t have enough time.

Anyhow, am leaving the turquoise sea and beautiful white beaches of Broome and heading South tomorrow.

    hello sweetie!

Am dead envious - stuck here in my little study doing dull work all day! Sigh, I remember turquoise seas, and white and yellow beaches.

We’ve bought a house (or at least, we’ve had our offer accepted). It’s very subject to survey - it’s in a bit of a state, and the current not-too-bright-or-bothered owners have let young trees take root right next to the wall and the chimney (duh) so we’re waiting to see whether they’ve done any structural damage yet. If not we’ll buy and rip ‘em out immediately. Looks like the owners may have removed an important wall in the kitchen too - and the entire house and garden needs gutting, even the dodgy looking boiler! We reckon it’s a good 40k to make it all ok, but we’ll have to wait until after the wedding ‘cos we can’t afford it before.
It’s all a bit scary, this serious settling down malarky! Many a moment is spent thinking wistfully of travelling.

Keep having a good time. Where you off to next?
    L xx

Hi Mike, How are things? Sounds like you are having fun! I have currently going through a shock adjustment - from travelling to ‘mature’ student - fun fun. Off home this weekend though :) I will keep checking your progress - wish I was still there! Cx

Helen, you’re Neighbours knowledge is impressive. When I get to Melbourne, I’ll do the Neighbours tour and go to Ramsey Street. How jealous are you? ;-)

    Alright Michael!

    Australia—challenging school–Australia—challenging school—Australia–challenging school…..hmmmmmmm–you lucky barsteward!

The schools actually not too bad and I’m really enjoying it, though has to be said that Australia does sound damned good (as you’d expect).

I’ve stopped watching Neighbours. No, really.

(OK I saw it today, because it was on at work… I had my head in the newspaper and didn’t pay it much attention [Paul Robinson is legless].)
