The Milford Track
The Milford Track is a wonderful 4 day walk in the Fiordland National Park in the South Island. It is regarded as one of the best walks in New Zealand, if not the world. And we completed all 33.5 miles of it! Well done us! Now here come the pics with some descriptions below them.
MacKinnons Cross which is on the way to Glade Wharf at the start of the walk, the first sign for the Milford Track showing our first nights accommodation - Clinton Hut, a view of the track on the second day, and a kea.
One of many bits of the track which is prone to avalances, on top of MacKinnons Pass, another view of the top of the Pass, and the loo with the view.
One of the many swing bridges en route, Sutherland Falls (580m high, highest in New Zealand, 6th highest permanent waterfall in the world), a weka, and a view on the final day.
MacKay Falls, view near the finish, the finish!, and a view on the boat trip from Sandfly Point to Milford Sound.
