Au revoir Tahiti, hola Isla de Pascua
Having spent 2 days lying on a beach, it was time to move on again. Another long wait at the airport (I got to know that floor well) was in order but eventually I arrived at Rapa Nui/Isla de Pascua aka Easter Island. And it’s been raining pretty much none stop. However I managed to hire a jeep with some people I met and we saw a few moai (the big heads!). In fact, we saw loads of them. We also climbed up to the volcano where they were all made and there are a few which didn’t get finished. Anyhow, will be leaving soon and then onto Santiago. So until then, adios!

No photos of the big heads?
By the way, did you try to get in touch via msn last night (or morning or afternoon or whatever time it was on the other side of the planet)?

Martin - I do have lots and lots of photos of the statues, but just not able to get them online yet! Will have a go soon. And yes I did try MSN’ing but you disappeared. Could have been the dodgy satellite connection on Easter Island.
Caris - We’ve made it to Santiago! Angela says hi. We’re heading south to the Lake District area and then popping into Argentina and maybe a bit of skiing in Bariloche if there is snow. Then we will work our way up Argentina to Mendoza, before coming back to Santiago. Should be fun. Adios!
